CH Aesch - Climbing cubes

In the Summer of 2020 we have built a “climbing caterpillar” at the Schützenmatt primary school in Aesch BL. The object consists of polygonal climbing cubes, which can be attached to one another as desired. By combining them with add-on elements such as rods or ropes, the possible uses increase.
The municipality of Aesch has opted for a quadruple cube. Since the maximum fall height is less than 3 meters and because a corresponding fall protection covering made of EPDM rubber has been installed, no monitoring is required to use the freely accessible climbing caterpillar.
The municipalities of the canton of Baselland were able to apply for a climbing caterpillar in a competition held by the “Sportamt Baselland” in 2019. The municipality of Aesch was chosen as the lucky winner at the officially certified drawing.
These boulder objects are built according to the playground standard EN 1176 and meet the safety requirements of the BfU. We want to point out that with our climbing cubes you can vary the levels of difficulty from beginner to expert.
