CH Bellinzona - Concrete skatepark

Bellinzona has a new concrete skate park. Skaters from the canton of Ticino have been waiting for this for many years.

Vertical developed the design and the concept in collaboration with local skaters during workshops. The project was completed in only 4 weeks during June 2018. The excavation and coarse shaping work was previously carried out by a local construction company. Short-term optimizations such as a wallride could be implemented thanks to the openness of the customer.

The skate park consists of a green center with plants and concrete surfaces on different levels which run around the center. A quarterpipe and bench serve as starting elements. Pyramids, curbs, a rail with gap and two stair sets with rail and hubbas are located in between. Local materials were used to give the skatepark a unique look. A unique curb design and the manual table's polished granite finish enhance the park and make it one of a kind in the region.
