CH Lausanne - Skate Sculpture transported by helicopter
After the sculpture "A new Chapter" stood in front of the main entrance of the Olympic Museum in Lausanne since June 2021, it was transported by helicopter on March 13, 2023 to the new location at the skatepark in Vidy.
Skateboarding has been an Olympic sport since 2016, which is why the IOC had this skateable sculpture created.
The sculpture "A new Chapter" was designed by the Berlin-based Swiss artist Rylsee, aka Cyril Vouilloz.
Rylsee is a skateboarder himself and became internationally known for his graffiti and graphics as well as his avant-garde approach.
Vertical Technik AG built and installed the sculpture in the form of the capital letter "A" with a wave and a vertical wall.
