CH Wittenbach - Climbing cube

In the project for the new school complex Sonnenrain, an area for children and young people was defined in the early planning stage, which should serve as a replacement for the outdated and underutilized skater facility on the swimming pool area. In the course of the realization in 2020, the community commissioned children and young people as well as the school to determine possible uses in relation to the entire community area. In the end, the decision was made in favour of Vertical Technik Ltd's proposal with a combined climbing cube and a double children's bar.

A climbing installation in the form of a caterpillar was made up of 8 elements, which point in different directions. This created a climbing object that bridges play and bouldering. The double bar for children was designed with a high centre post at the request of the customer. Both systems are complemented by an EPDM fall protection. The climbing object has been pre-assembled in the production halls of Vertical Technik Ltd and delivered in one piece. The installation was carried out using a crane truck on the concrete foundations prepared on site and was completed after three hours. >
