Concrete Skatepark Cornaredo in Lugano<\/h2>\n

Next to the existing bowl skatepark in Cornaredo, Vertical Technik AG built a new concrete skatepark with prefabricated elements from SkateStone. The design was created by Yari Kopt from the Warriors<\/strong><\/a> and was adapted to the existing facility and the needs of the local skate scene. <\/p>\n

Only about four months passed from the order receipt in early February 2011 until completion. This meant the new skatepark was already available for skateboarding, BMX, scooters, and inline skating in early summer. <\/p>\n

High-Quality Prefabricated Concrete Elements<\/h3>\n

The skatepark elements were produced by Hofmann Betonteile GmbH<\/strong><\/a> in Elsenfeld. Concrete of strength class C55\/67 was used for the components, which is characterized by high strength and resistance. <\/p>\n

The joints between the individual elements were filled with a special resin. This created a largely homogeneous riding surface where the transitions between the elements are barely noticeable. <\/p>\n

In addition, approximately 15-centimeter-thick concrete slabs were installed on-site between the prefabricated components. This eliminated the need for additional transition plates and ensured consistent riding quality. <\/p>\n

Short Assembly Time and High Planning Reliability<\/h3>\n

A significant advantage of the element construction method lies in the short construction time. In Lugano, all skatepark elements were installed within just eight working days. <\/p>\n

Since a large part of the production already takes place in the factory, assembly is less dependent on weather conditions than with a facility fully concreted on-site. This allows for more reliable planning of construction time, quality, and costs. <\/p>\n

Individual Design Without Limitations<\/h3>\n

Despite the prefabricated construction method, the design developed by Yari Kopt could be fully implemented. The individual elements were planned and manufactured project-specifically, so no compromises were necessary regarding lines, flow, or design. <\/p>\n

The concrete skatepark in Cornaredo thus created a robust and versatile facility that meaningfully complements the existing bowl and combines different riding styles.<\/p>\n
