New Parkour and Street Workout facility opened in Arlesheim<\/h2>\n

After the new skate park with granite elements and a micro ramp opened in summer 2019, the leisure activities in Arlesheim were further expanded. A new Parkour and Street Workout facility with slackline<\/strong> was created on the green space in front of the swimming pool entrance. <\/p>\n

The Street Workout facility enables versatile strength and fitness exercises using one’s own body weight. The Parkour facility offers walls, bars, and other elements for jumps, balance exercises, and creative movement sequences. <\/p>\n

Parkour facility for beginners and advanced athletes<\/h3>\n

The new Parkour facility was developed by Parkour world champion and Ninja professional Chris Harmat in collaboration with Paul Heuberger from Vertical Technik AG. As the first facility of its kind in the region, it is aimed at both beginners and advanced athletes. <\/p>\n

A fall protection surface made of EPDM rubber ensures suitable conditions for training in the area of the Parkour and Street Workout facility.<\/p>\n

Leisure facility created from a youth survey<\/h3>\n

The starting point of the project was the dismantling of the aging skate park. The municipality of Arlesheim then conducted a survey among young residents to determine possible uses for the vacated space. <\/p>\n

The topics of skate park, parkour, and street workout<\/strong> were particularly in focus. In a subsequent participatory workshop, children and young people from Arlesheim contributed their wishes and ideas to the development of the new leisure facility. <\/p>\n

Thanks to the sponsoring of various companies and the financial support from the municipality and the lottery fund, the project could be realized. The leisure facility is operated by the association \u00abFreiraum Jugendhaus und Kindertreff\u00bb. <\/p>\n
