In September 2019, Marie-Claude Ruffieux from the Remaufens Municipal Council contacted Vertical Technik AG with the desire to build a halfpipe and other skate elements for the community. In discussions with project stakeholders, it became clear that significant preparatory work had already been done: professional scooter rider Benjamin \u00abBenji\u00bb Friant had conducted workshops with young people and developed initial ideas for a new skate park. <\/p>\n
After further clarifications and a workshop with Paul Heuberger, the location was determined to be at the sports field, in close proximity to a body of water. Subsequently, the planning and legal requirements were clarified together with the municipality, a surveyor, and an architect. The building permit was finally granted in the summer of 2025. <\/p>\n
The heart of the new skate facility is a specially designed mini ramp with a so-called Wave<\/strong>. The wave-shaped connection between the ramps extends classic riding lines and opens up additional possibilities for tricks and creative runs. <\/p>\n The construction was designed so that both beginners and experienced riders can use the facility in a versatile way. The combination of mini ramp and wave, in particular, gives the Remaufens skate park its unique character. <\/p>\n The facility measures 14.5 meters in length and 5.5 meters in width<\/strong>. The platform height is one meter, while the Wave reaches a height of 0.5 meters. <\/p>\n Robust Skateface panels<\/strong> are used as the riding surface. The facility is therefore suitable for various roller sports such as: <\/p>\n The different heights and transitions allow for varied riding lines for different skill levels.<\/p>\n During implementation, care was also taken to minimize the impact on the site. The skate facility was largely built on a gravel sub-base. <\/p>\n Only seven foundation blocks were needed to secure the ramp structure against wind and to attach the information board with the relevant instructions and standards. This reduced the structural intervention in the environment to a minimum. <\/p>\n The wishes of young people played an important role from the outset in the development of the project. In addition, Benjamin \u00abBenji\u00bb Friant, an experienced professional scooter rider, contributed his expertise directly to the development of the facility.
