New Mini Ramp at Lake Geneva – Planned and Built Together with Young People
The skatepark in Rolle (VD) on the shores of Lake Geneva has received a new attraction: A modern mini ramp (miniramp) was realized following a participatory workshop with local young people. Thanks to the support of the City of Rolle and youth services, a project was implemented that directly meets the needs of young skateboarders.
As part of a workshop, the young people developed their ideas and wishes for the skatepark. The result is a compact, versatile mini ramp with spine perfectly integrated into the existing facility.
Technical Specifications of the New Mini Ramp
The new miniramp features the following dimensions:
- Height: 1.10 meters
- Width: 5.28 meters
- Integrated spine for additional riding options
- High-quality riding surface made of Skatesmart / Skateface
The facility was designed to be suitable for both beginners and advanced skaters. The combination of a classic halfpipe-style mini ramp and spine enables numerous tricks and creative lines.
Perfect Integration into the Existing Skatepark
The new mini ramp ideally complements the existing skatepark in Rolle. Already present are numerous street and transition elements, including:
- large pyramid
- quarter pipe
- Rail
- manual pad (wheelie table)
- curved trick curb made of granite
- Foosball Table
- additional skate elements
The new miniramp creates an additional riding option for skateboards, BMX, scooters, and inline skates. The combination of street area and transition elements makes the skatepark even more versatile and attractive.
Skating with a Lake View Next to the Castle of Rolle
Particularly unique is the location of the skatepark. Situated directly on Lake Geneva and in close proximity to the historic Castle of Rolle, the facility offers one of the most beautiful settings for skateboarding in the Vaud region.
The new halfpipe mini ramp blends harmoniously into the existing infrastructure and creates an attractive meeting point for the local skate scene as well as visitors from the entire region.
Thanks to the City of Rolle and Youth Services
Special thanks go to the City of Rolle and youth services for their trust and constructive collaboration. Through the active involvement of young people, a mini ramp was created that meets the needs of users and enhances the skatepark in the long term.
With the new miniramp in Rolle, another high-quality skate spot has been created at Lake Geneva, offering both athletic challenges and a unique meeting place.
The skatepark is located directly on the lake next to the Castle of Rolle.
