Microramp in Trimmis implemented together with young people

With active youth participation, a new microramp was created in Trimmis in 2015. Twelve young people from the municipality were not only introduced to the planning, but also helped with the preparation and installation of the skate facility.

On May 22, 2015, the group visited Vertical Technik AG in Frenkendorf together with youth worker Sandra Hemmi. There, the young people gained insights into the various work steps – from design and production drawings to the planning and visualisation of skateparks.

Workshop and preparation in the workshop

Based on the plans for their own microramp, it was explained what matters for the later installation. Afterwards, under the guidance of Roman Jeker, they went into the workshop.

Together, the required materials were prepared: wooden battens, riding surfaces, sheet metal, steel structures and fastening materials were sorted, labelled, palletised and loaded for transport to Trimmis.

Young people help with the installation

On May 28, 2015, the installation of the microramp in Trimmis began. The young people worked in two groups and supported the installation team with screwing, drilling, fitting and adjusting the individual components.

By early afternoon, the new microramp could be tested for the first time. Through their direct involvement, the young people gained a practical insight into the creation of their own skate facility.

Youth participation as part of the project

Involving the young people proved to be a valuable part of the project. The workshop combined information, hands-on work and joint implementation, thereby strengthening their connection to the new facility.

Vertical Technik AG would like to thank the municipality and the Trimmis school, as well as the local sponsors, for their support. Special thanks go to Heinz Hemmi from the lower secondary school and Sandra Hemmi from youth services for their commitment.
