Mutzig concrete skatepark: New flowpark in Alsace
In 2018, the municipality of Mutzig commissioned Vertical Technik AG to develop a preliminary project for a new skatepark. To complement the existing facilities in the region, Vertical Technik proposed a versatile concrete flowpark.
The concept convinced the municipal council. Vertical Technik then took on the preparation of the plans as well as the tendering process.
From preliminary project to finished facility
The Belgian skatepark construction company CVBA Skate was commissioned to carry out the work. In August 2019, the new concrete skatepark was built in just five weeks. The landscaping and surrounding works were carried out by the municipality of Mutzig.
Thanks to the short construction period, the new space for movement was completed quickly and handed over to the public.
Versatile flowpark for creative lines
A corner quarterpipe and a roll-in serve as starting elements and allow different entries into the park. Between them, various obstacles create varied, flowing lines.
Equipment includes:
- Curb
- Volcano
- Spine with hip quarterpipe
- Pyramid with parking block
- Wallride with perforated metal sheet
The wallride is the skatepark’s special highlight and gives the facility its own distinctive character. The combination of transitions and street elements offers a wide range of options for different riding styles and experience levels.
Official opening in October 2019
The official opening of the new skatepark took place on Saturday, October 19, 2019. With the concrete flowpark, Mutzig gained a new meeting place for movement, roller sports and socialising.
