CH Bettingen - Boulder Block
A new climbing block for the Basel – Bettingen region!
History:
In January 2024, the municipality of Bettingen contacted us and requested a quote for a street workout installation. After several exchanges, the project evolved into an intergenerational park with a playground, a barbecue area, a seating circle, a boccia court, a zip line, a street workout installation, and a climbing block.
In spring 2025, the municipality approved the climbing block, while the implementation of the street workout installation was postponed due to budget reasons. On Friday, April 25, 2025, the intergenerational park was officially opened. The responsibility for renewing the climbing routes was entrusted to Joshua Wyss, a passionate boulderer.
The Generationenparcours St. Chrischona association aims to promote meeting, movement, and reflection, and manages the recreational area on Chrischona Mountain. It is a playground for children and adults alike, where visitors can be inspired by the diverse possibilities offered by the site, with a majestic view. Chrischona Mountain has always been a place of pilgrimage, vacation, and relaxation.
The Generationenparcours association encourages a space for gathering across all generations, providing infrastructure that stimulates the body, mind, and soul, welcoming numerous visitors and hikers from Bettingen, Riehen, Basel, and the tri-border region.
Here, positive changes can occur during the precious moments spent in the intergenerational park.
We are proud to have been able to create and deliver the climbing block for this place of pilgrimage. We thank Ueli Rusch, director of Chrischona Berg, as well as the municipality of Bettingen, represented by councilor Gaby Walker, for this excellent collaboration and for the trust placed in us to realize this climbing block.
