Skatepark Beauregard in Fribourg: A Complete Renovation Boosting the Local Skate Scene

The Beauregard Skatepark in Fribourg has been fully renovated and now stands as one of the most modern concrete skateparks in Switzerland.
Vertical Technik AG, a leading company in the design and construction of skateparks, parkour parks, and street workout facilities, delivered the project together with the association Public Domain and the local skate community.
A participatory design approach centred on the users
From the start, the project team relied on a participatory planning process.
Workshops with local skaters allowed their ideas and needs to flow directly into the design.
This collaborative approach ensures a skatepark perfectly adapted to modern skateboarding, with smooth riding lines, safety, and maximum flow.
Modern concrete design: an urban look enhancing the Beauregard district
The redesigned skatepark combines a contemporary urban character with high-quality concrete elements.
Key new features include:
- a quarter with multiple hips
- a versatile pyramid
- fluid lines suitable for beginners and advanced riders alike
All concrete structures were produced and installed by Vertical Technik AG, ensuring precise craftsmanship, seamless transitions, and full compliance with EN 14974 safety standards.
A vibrant sports space for kids, teens, and families
The initiative for the renovation was launched by Public Domain, whose president Frédéric Nell has supported the local skate scene for many years.
“We wanted a park that motivates young people to get back on their boards after winter,” explains Nell.
Today, Skatepark Beauregard has become a popular meeting point for:
